HangZhou · Office Display Area, Canal Vanke Centre
This project stands as a landmark production and office venture by Vanke in Hangzhou, following the success of the Canal Vanke Centre. It blends Hangzhou’s bold, innovative, and open spirit with the modular concept to intertwine traditional office modes with the future of workplace evolution, thus crafting an “interactive and open” workspace—Canal Vanke Centre Office Display Area. The lobby reception area is adorned with a circular, floating chandelier, dotted with point light sources in an orderly fashion, creating visual tension in the space while balancing a sense of technology with warmth and vitality.
A looping and flexible circulation connects all functional areas, forming a fluid, interactive, and multifaceted elastic space. The open interactive space reshapes the traditional work routine with a fully functional public space that also needs a cozy corner. The carefully designed coffee bar and rest area adopt a home-like layout, where one can fully enjoy the comfort of the warm afternoon sun and indulge in a moment of soulful rejuvenation. Beyond the basic open areas, there are also leisurely, private conversation booths set up to diminish the innate sense of strangeness among people. The bright and welcoming reception and interaction spaces meet the functional needs for receiving clients, employee rest, and work communication. Modular furniture arrangements invigorate the entire space, catering to multiple needs for communication, waiting, and leisure relaxation, smoothly transitioning through the rich daily office life. An orderly floor plan optimizes the varied spatial flow, with a layout that is free and flexible, tight and loose, making the richly diverse workday more streamlined and efficient, enabling a multitude of innovative working conditions to flourish.
