ShenZhen · Frame Show Showroom
Design serves as a vital conduit for integrating art into the everyday, with designers translating the essence of art into products and spaces, making it an accessible and daily aspect of our lives. With this in mind, the concepts of the everyday life, art, and sustainability become central to this exhibition’s theme. Can furniture be considered artwork? Can art pieces serve daily functions? What is the collectible value of contemporary furniture? Utilizing the most ordinary and sustainable materials to construct an artistic “runway,” this exhibition showcases avant-garde artistic expressions of furniture, tiles, sanitary ware... items that are common in our daily lives. In collaboration with FRAME’s curatorial team, EK Design has completed the design of this exhibition space and the planning of its exhibits. This “SHOW” transforms the catwalk for the visitors themselves, as EK Design’s team attempts to invert the duality of “exhibiting” and “viewing”. With a striking pink skybridge linking the exhibition spaces, visitors are invited to step onto the runway, blurring the lines between observer and participant, and between the daily and the extraordinary.
